Life City began in Pastor Matt and Bryn’s home in December 2011. For the first meeting, Matt felt drawn to teach from Ezekiel 37, the passage about God breathing life into a valley of dry bones. As he taught, he sensed the Holy Spirit speak to him about the city of Columbus – that there were many scattered across the city which, like the dry bones described in the passage, were separated from their purpose and without hope. He also sensed God speaking to him about the church being birthed that day – that they would be used to speak life into those without hope; and that through the power of a life-giving community, people would be restored to their purpose.
For the first two years, Life City met on Saturday nights. In November 2014, they began to meet on Sunday mornings. And in August 2016, they moved into their current location in Pickerington. During the journey, they have seen God do some incredible things: many have given their lives to Christ, received physical healing in their bodies, and experienced the life-changing power of God’s love.
Today, Life City is a growing, Spirit-filled, multi-cultural Church with a heart for the hopeless and those far away from God. They long to connect imperfect people to a perfect God, and to see dry bones come to life.
